Joss Saville Racing - Meet The Team
Joss Saville
Joss Saville comes from a family steeped in horsemanship and racing. His mother being a very good point to point rider and trainer in the 70's, she has been based in Ireland for the last 20years producing and breeding National Hunt Stock. His Father is also a successful Point to Point and Hunter Chase Rider and Trainer who has dealt bloodstock and competition horses for over 40 years.
Joss grew up mainly in Southern Ireland hunting and competing on ponies. On leaving school he joined the all conquering yard of Willy Mullins working and riding for several years. After that he had a short stint in the UK with his Father at Gisburn before leaving for the USA where he gained valuable experience producing yearlings and training on the Flat.
On Returning to Ireland he was granted a full training license. For the next four years he returned to the UK as Assistant to Sue Smith at Bingley. During this time the facilities at the Family Yard were improved to accomodate training on a full time basis and all weather gallops were installed.
Over the last year Joss has established himself at the Gisburn Yard and successfully trained winners from a small selection of young or difficult horses who had previously lost form.
